Milk Matters provides free breastfeeding support to all families in our community.
Every Milk Matters program is facilitated by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants for the best evidence-based care.

Milk Matters is free to attend. All are welcome.


Milk Matters provides weekday morning programs the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, weekday evening programs on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and weekend afternoon programs the 1st Saturday of each month (except January).

Weekday morning gatherings are held at Banneker Community Center Playroom on the 3rd Floor. Banneker Community Center is located at 930 W. 7th Street, at the NE corner of 7th & N. Elm. Street parking available or there is a lot 1.5 blocks north at 9th & Elm. It is also accessible by Bloomington Transit #3 bus line to 5th & Elm, 2 blocks. Morning programs run from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Weekday evening gatherings are held at City Hall in McCloskey Room 135. City Hall is located at 401 N. Morton Street. There is free, lighted parking in lot. It is accessible by Bloomington Transit #2W bus line to Showers Complex. Evening programs run from 6:30pm to 8pm.

Weekend afternoon gatherings are held at the Crestmont Boys and Girls Club Teen Room on the Mezzanine level. Crestmont Boys & Girls Club is located at 1111 W 12th St, Bloomington, on the SW corner of Monroe and 12th. Free street parking is available. It is accessible by Bloomington Transit’s #2W bus line to the 13th and Summit stop (request closest stop at corner of 12th/Monroe). Saturday afternoon programs run from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Melissa Larimer of Flora Massage and Wellness Services will be volunteering with Milk Matters, providing free TummyTime!™ classes during the Saturday afternoon meetings at Crestmont Boys & Girls Club starting in March! Tummy time helps babies soften tissue, strengthen muscles and support overall development, helping to optimize feeding, digestion and comfort. While working with Melissa, parents can expect to help their baby get into tummy time comfortably and learn infant massage techniques.

Our lactation consultants offer free, evidence-based, clinical breastfeeding support and weight checks, to all families in our community.
